Okay, so here is an updated/adjusted version of my previous marker brush. [link]
Basically, it's softer, and I messed with the saturation and color purity, as well as the texture scaling and depth. You could probably do it yourself on the old one, but thought I'd post this, as I have both presets saved. EDIT: EITHER USE V3 OR CHECK THE COMMENTS; ONE OF THE POSTERS MADE THE TEXTURE SEAMLESS, SO REPLACE WITH THAT ONE. |

Let me know if it can be improved..I know I'm having a little trouble with texture-repeating on large areas.

The texture repeating is because your texture isn't suited to looping. It has dark and light edges, which results in the grid. Thankfully another program I use (PaintShop Pro) has a handy dandy "convert to seamless pattern" doohickey which made this from your original: [link]
Try it out and let me know if you think its okay! You're welcome to have it.
